Howies Singles Season #10 Semifinals Results for 11-Aug-98

  First off, here's what happened:

Congrats to Brad, Joe and M for taking the lead going into the finals.  
Top three folks in each division meet up next week for the finals, will 
have all the game matchups coming up real soon.  Was lots of real tight 
matches.

In A-Division, Brad gets a special congrats for being the only undefeated 
player on the night.  Think he lulled his opponents into picking Scared 
Stiff against him, he twice beat his career high score which had been 
just 14M.

In B-Division, things were real tight.  Julie needed a win on her last 
game to advance, and just barely eeked it out over Kim by 4M on Starship 
Troopers.  And Kim had just lost to Joe 45M to 44M on Breakshot, which 
meant the difference between a first and third place finish for him.  
SteveM was also in the thick of it going into his last game on NBA, but 
picking a new machine didn't work out to be the wildcard he had hoped.

And in C-Division, congrats to M for winning her division.  Was pretty 
tight here as well, with 2nd and 3rd place ending in a tie.  Tiebreaker 
of the head-to-head match between Deb and Sara was won by Deb, giving her 
2nd place and a few game picks next week ahead of Sara.  Deb needed a 
4-point win in the final match to even make the playoffs, which she did 
manage to get.  Had Sara managed even a point, she'd have taken the 1st 
place spot, as it is ended up with 3rd.
